SPRING 2017 | Altuzarra
New York Fashion Week
What happens when an editor's favorite delivers heaps of prints, colors, and textures in the most perfect way? The answer is an Instagram filled with photos, videos, and captions expressing utter love and happiness. Yeah, I actually woke up and my brain was like "check Instagram ASAP", so I did, and I am so happy to have started my day as everyone in NY ended theirs with such beauty. Altuzarra is a longtime favorite of mine as well, and I would like to join the massive praise going to the designer and his team.
Altuzarra is known for mixing prints in the coolest way possible, impeccable tailoring, and flattering silhouettes. And when those three things become your template, you're destined for success.
The collection is filled with a reoccurring SS17 trend; ruffles. Alongside the sequined and embroidered fruits, ruffles give this overall very sexy collection a playful, whimsical, and youthful flow. The bras-as-tops trend got the magic Altuzarra touch, suddenly making me look at a trend I hate in a different (positive) light, and I believe it's thanks to the tailored tapered trousers and the gorgeous knee-length skirts.
Furthermore, this collection has perfect street style vibes. I'm looking forward to seeing who (besides Anna Dello Russo) will be wearing this collection on the streets soon, as the sparkles and prints are made to grab any photographer's attention. xx
