If you thought the eighties was a strong influence last season, oh, this season was that times x100. The eighties influences were in everything from the tops to the footwear, but we can see this trend most dominant in the shoulders. Yeah, those poofy shoulders are now acceptable, whether we love it or hate it. Pictures: Isabel Marant and Saint Laurent.
Another trend which has been around for quite a while now; this too is one which doesn't seem to be going anywhere for the time being. I will admit to not being such a fan in the past, but the bralette (as a top) has surely come along way. My favorite bralette looks were at Altuzarra (pictured), the retro twist made it look fresh and cool again. Also pictured: Victoria Beckham.
Minibags are practical and fun, they just make sense. Highlights are from Louis Vuitton (pictured) which featured a large variety of smaller bags, the popular one being the new bag/phonecase merge. My favorite minibags are from Valentino (also pictured), as some looks were styled with not one, but two (yay!) minibags to carry all of your things. I'm still to put my finger on just why I love this trend so much, but I am officially obsessed.
Graphic prints made another huge comeback this season, but among those graphic prints, stripes won. Those who know me can confirm that I wear way to many striped pieces. I have striped dresses, striped tees, and pinstriped trousers. So seeing this mass amount of stripes on the runway makes me so happy - this is definitely a trend I can get behind.
Which trends made your list? Any favorites? xx
