HOW TO: Reduce Stress

Stress. Ugh.
I get very stressed sometimes, but lately I've wondered: why do I keep this to myself? 
We all go through this: tough days at work, not hitting great results in university, arguing with a good friend (and even, losing that friend), not achieving the desired outcome from a blog post, and many, many other parts of life which I'm sure we could discuss for ages. The feelings of stress which come with anxiety and nerves sometimes, well, they are quite normal, which is why I decided to write this post. Like I said, I get stressed. But I'm used to it, and I have a few ways in which I reduce that stress quite fast, and it would be a shame not to share my ways, with hope you can gain something out of this. Here are my favorite ways de-stress:


TAKE SOME TIME OUT FOR YOURSELF
This is the obvious one, which I'm sure you already know and have been told to do a million times... But it's so true! Chill, take it easy. Read a book (current recommendation: I Feel Bad About My Neck by Nora Ephron), listen to some music, get some good Netflix on and just relax... These moments with yourself are sometimes just what you need to refresh a bit. 


GET SOME AIR
It's rare for me to start the day stressed - the stressy stuff always hits near the end of the day. And I've found myself walking out of the office to some awesome fresh air, and I feel almost instantly better. I have been working on getting air a few times during the working day, because I do think the constant being-indoors is quite suffocating. Guys, we need to make getting some air a habit.


ORGANIZE AND CLEAN
I used to be a super messy and unorganized person. At one point I recognized the constant mess as (you guessed it) #stress. Stress can come from being very overwhelmed by things. Start by creating a to-do list for the next day, and getting your tasks prioritized. Follow this by doing an organizational task: fold your otherwise messy underwear drawer or rehang your clothes by colors (or prints!), or you could clean out your desk (including dusting). Try it, you'll be surprised at how awesome this can make you feel.


TREAT YO SELF
An expensive one, really. But this part of Parks and Rec is everything. Yes, to the point where this episode aired ages ago and I still think about it. I will buy myself flowers, a cupcake, or I'll book a massage. I'd go with some friends for a nice dinner, or even for a gorgeous coffee. I'll walk into Zara or spend some time on ASOS. Again, this is the expensive way to let go of the stress so I wasn't sure I'd add it to the list, but it works damn good.

  3. Great tips dear, I think taking some time out for yourself and treating yourself is one of the best things you can do to relieve some stress.
