Raf Simons Exits Dior

Photos via thefashionspot.com

I did this day-without-internet the other day, which was amazing by the way, however I return to the grid and I see the breaking news that Raf Simons is leaving Dior. And I'm like NO.
Those of you who have been reading this blog a while know that I'm a die-hard Raf fan. And for those of you whom are new: I'm totally a die-hard Raf fan. The love started when he was at Jil Sander, and when news got out that he's moving to Dior I was absolutely overjoyed.
Raf did not disappoint.
Raf created a Dior that, for me, is completely wearable. More so, Raf created a Dior that is completely approachable. Under John Galliano, Dior was a brand I could admire, but one I was too scared to touch. Now Dior has transformed into a brand I admire, but will also know how to shop for myself. The accessories especially, see, these are all pieces I can happily and easily incorporate into my everyday closet.

I'm not sure that there's a reason to why Raf is leaving Dior but I can read the speculation all day. (if you have some concrete news, please share it. And if you still see this part in this post after there IS concrete reasons out, please don't judge, as this post was scheduled).

The bottom line is... change is good (look at Gucci, Louis Vuitton), change can give us a fresh opinion on a older, more classic fashion house. I'm sad that Raf is leaving, obviously, but I am quite excited to see what's next for Dior.

Do you have any ideas, wishes on whom can be the next creative directer? Do share! x

LINKS

via
LINKS!
I haven't done one of these posts in ages. My apologies. But I'm finally, happily, sitting in my new bed in my new flat, I have some candles burning, and my pyjamas on. Ah, bliss. And I know it's right for some quality time with the blog.

- Speaking of candles, I've made a nice order of Liberty of Flowers candles. Check them out here
- This soup is the yummiest, warmest, loveliest soup ever. Especially if you like sweet potato and coconut milk, made in a tasty and healthy way.
- I don't like that I like these, as I recognise them as just a trend and may not love them forever. However, I simply can't help but crave these Adidas trainers
- Calling all Tel Avivim! Have you eaten at the insanely good Hotel Montefiore yet? I have. And then I wrote about it.
- The 2016 MET exhibit makes me proud.
- The prettiest blue for nails I've seen, since 'Butler Please': essie's Suite Retreat

What's been on your link list lately? Do share xx

PFW: Zadig & Voltaire Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear

Zadig & Voltaire Spring 2016 Ready to Wear at Paris Fashion Week

Hello, you can call me obsessed.
I am loving this collection a lot. I also love that it's 100% ready-to-wear acceptable for the Tel Aviv weather RIGHT NOW. Which makes me think of that Zadig store only a short 15 minute walk away... xx

October Interiors

Ugh, Pinterest... I browse Pinterest and pin all the time, but it always leaves me with the feeling that everyone else must have a cooler flat than me. Which makes my current situation all the better:
I finally moved flats for the final time in a string of flat hopping (subletting). What makes this move extra special is that 1. moved in with boyfriend! 2. flat is located in the best part of town, and 3. I have these awesome, totally blank white walls. Lots of wall space too.
I know this is only a flat I'm renting, and it's hard not to get super invested.. But for the first time, in one of the classic tiny Tel Aviv flats, I have space and room to decorate! Totally stoked.
So, while Pinterest interiors may make me a bit green with envy, at least now I have the space to do something about it. (now, all I need is time. and tons of money. but you know...).

How do you decorate those white walls? xx

PFW: Chanel Spring 2016 Ready-To-Wear

Chanel Spring 2016 Ready To Wear by Karl Lagerfeld at Paris Fashion Week

This show is awesome. I watched it unfold live on my computer screen, and I was like "wow. I wish I was there.". And it really takes a lot for a show to make me genuinely wish I left the comfort of my own laptop, to join the hectic yet gorgeous chaos of fashion week (nowadays, with the amazing live streaming of shows).

But here's the thing: when I went back to see the collection one more time, on Vogue Runway, I really had to dig to find looks that I actually liked. No, I can't say I liked the 80's fashion (though I have deep appreciation for the fine and stellar detailing on each garment). And it just gets to this point where Chanel is all about the experience above all. Even if the clothes may not suit everyone's taste, the experience of Chanel is what is being sold. The lifestyle. Even decked in clothes the Fresh Prince would die for.

After addressing my dislike to the clothes, I still admire Chanel as a brand and Karl as the great, leading visionary. And I know I will be secretly (not so secretly) obsessing over the Chanel airlines until next season.

Thoughts on this collection? x
