3.1 Phillip Lim Autumn/Winter 2015 Ready To Wear at New York Fashion Week
Punk rock mixes with the signature Phillip Lim tailoring, aka fashion prayers being answered. And in good time for the brand's 10 year anniversary (mazel tov!). This collection is the pretty that has been dismantled by punk, as happened to so many women in the early eighties (obvious time reference).
But again, this is a woman influenced heavily by punk culture, whom also won't forget where she comes from. The outerwear were incredible lady like, adding a very interesting and not-so-obvious twist. The plaid looks with the silk hems - I mean, totally obvious she didn't transform all the way. And that's totally OK, she's breaking the norm while staying comfortable with it.
Throughout the collection we had a lot of zipped leather pieces, graphic elements on blouses, and heavy wool fabrics in addition to the plaid. Silky, flowy skirts with asymmetrical hems. We also had a few fur scarves appear, making this potentially the most obvious runway trends this NYFW.
The handbags are perfect, per usual. The shoes were awesome and strappy, high heels but not all high. Some with animal prints and some in a solid black or grey (classical Lim).
Rock on, Mr. Lim. Cheers to the next decade (+) of the brand. xx
