Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring 2015
From the very first look I already knew, there is something new, fresh for Dior this couture season.
Instead of giving us the New Look we're used to seeing at Dior, we here received something inspired by the same era, but so fresh. Raf has went into such a vibrant, fun time in fashion history and mixed it with his trademark casual yet futuristic touch.
I mean, shift dresses, psychedelic knits, and kinky boots at a Dior couture show! Oh happy days.
The collection is obviously filled with sixties nostalgia. Almost an ode to Yves Saint Laurent's incredible "Beat" collection, which did in fact get Mr. YSL fired from Dior... But with Raf, times are new and the brand is open to it.
The florals, sequins, lace, plastic details have all been done to perfection. Soft where it's really not meant to be, by the book. Highlights are the short, heavily embellished frocks complete with strategically placed cut-out details paired with over-the-knee patent leather boots... J'adore.
Taking guesses on who'll be wearing what from this collection at the Oscars.
