Let Us Be Bunnies (Halloween!)

(ps: posts over the years, from here)

As you probably already know since I say this every single year, I'm not big with dressing up.
But one can't simply attend a Halloween party as they are every single day, I know.

So here is my genius idea: go back into the archives and pull out some of those Louis Vuitton (Marc Jacobs) bunny ears. See Marc explaining them here, via his Fall/Winter 2009 collection for the brand.
You can choose between the lace or the bolder ones. Try styling with a fur vest or jacket, or just a tee shirt and leather skirt. Anything works.

Have a safe and amazing Halloween. xx

Fall Dressing

Caroline Brasch Nielsen By Henrik Bülow for Eurowoman Denmark November 2014

It's been a while since I've posted an editorial, and I suppose it's because they have been lacking something recently. I go to the editorials and expect to find the best styling, mixed with amazing photography and my issue is that nowadays the best styling is no longer in the magazines - it's now found on the streets. It's the magazine stylists who save their best looks for the streets, and somewhat "copy" that into the magazines. It's just funny how things tend to change in this certain way in the fashion world :-)

Nonetheless, this editorial has captivated me. Henrik Bülow always provides beautiful images, where the beauty comes back to haunt you a bit. It's memorable but toned down. And an editorial can do no wrong with Caro to begin with, she makes clothes look better than they should.

Thanks Eurowoman Denmark for this editorial, keep it up. xx

Vera Wang Bridal

A grungy Vera? Ooh, this sure is causing a stir.

I actually love this. With this collection, Vera is able to achieve being sexy, young, cool, seductive while keeping it traditional and wearable enough for a modern bride.
The incredible details include metallic accents, floral appliqué, incredible beadwork all paired with the new bridal accessory which seems to be a gold chocker necklace.

Thoughts on the collection? xx

RIP Oscar de la Renta

(photos via)

My favorite moments:
1. Fall/Winter RTW 13/14 Campaign
2. Bridal 2013
3. Fall/Winter RTW 2012
4. Spring/Summer RTW 2012

Oscar de la Renta died today. He was 82 years old.

The designer came from the Dominican Republic, he was first noticed in the 60's when he started dressing Jacqueline Kennedy. And this was only the beginning of a very fabulous ride; as by now, he's dressed more first ladies than any other designer. de la Renta has always been a go-to designer for the red carpet, as his gowns always proved to be glamorously elegant and always a hit among the critics. de la Renta also rose as one of the strongest and most wanted wedding dress designers (see his most recent, Amal Clooney).

With each new collection, we are always transported into another fairytale. One that's better than the last. Oscar de la Renta has kept his Latin touch throughout his rise in the American fashion world, and I've always admired that about him. Unlike many other designers (even on his level), he never forgot his roots.

With Oscar gone, the world is now a little bit less elegant and beautiful. We've lost a great talent, but no doubt the brand will still go on strong in his name.
