Photographs by Craig McDean for various Vogue Nippon issues from 2005, 2006, and 2007.
I really wanted to do a 'Fourth of July' themed post. But when I think back to when I was a young Florida girl, I think of myself buried in Vogue magazine. I seriously would read every issue and study every photo again and again... And again. Getting an issue once a month was NOT enough for me, then I discovered all of the different international editions and my life was absolutely complete.
While I always knew of Naomi, Linda, Kate, etc, when I first started reading Vogue the girls who graced the pages were Doutzen Kroes, Sasha Pivovarova, Coco Rocha, Gemma Ward, Raquel Zimmermann, Jessica Stam, Natalia Vodianova, Gisele Bündchen, Natasha Poly, Daria Werbowy, Caroline Trentini, Lily Donaldson, Karen Elson, and Tanya Dziahileva just to name a few (Well, quite a lot of them still grace the pages of Vogue today...) These are my supermodels. And for the reason that seeing these photos of them bring me back to my later childhood in South Florida (even though I really was looking for more stars and striped inspiration for this post) I will consider this post Independence Day themed.
Happy Independence Day!! Wishing those who celebrate a fun and safe day & night xx
